What Causes Painful Swelling In The Knee After Taking Ciprofloxacin?

Hello, I finished a 10-day course of Ciprofloxacin and Metronidazole over a week ago. Since then I have had a swollen, painful right knee -- stiffness and some shooting pain up the back of my calf from my ankle. I know that joint pain, etc. is a side effect of Cipro... will this resolve and/or will I need to see my Dr. For treatment? Other than the typical ice/heat and anti-inflammatory OTC medicine, is there something else I should be doing or taking to help prevent further damage to ligaments/joints? Thank you.
