Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have a large, very painfull swelling on my lower back (sacral area I think) after a fall over a week ago. The bruising is starting to go but the pain is quite unbearable to touch although I have no problem with mobility. Should I get it checked out or will it simply resolve itself?
Hello,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you got injury to your sacral area and you got hematoma ( bruising). Hematoma gradually resolved by itself .Thrombophob gel local application three times a day over it(no rubbing) can help in resolving it. You have sever pain in this area so you need to do your x-ray done to exclude fracture. For pain analgesics (Diclofenac three times a day after meals is effective). Sometimes strong analgesic(such as ultracet three times a day after meals) is required. OMEPRAZOLE before meals prevent acidity caused by analgesics . You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
