What Causes Painful Urination After Cystoscopy?

I had a cystoscopy done on my right side. After the procedure I had a stent in for a five days. My right side pressure is bothersome especially around my cycle. It’s a throbbing pain. It often hurts when I urinate. What is really going on? Was something punctured or damaged?

Hello,

Don't worry usually after the cystoscopy, your urethra may be sore at first, and it may burn when you urinate for the first few days after the procedure. You may feel the need to urinate more often, and your urine may be pink. These symptoms should get better in one or two days. You will probably be able to go back to work or most of your usual activities in one or two days. Please consult your doctor if you have
1.Blood in urine
2.Pain not improving.
3.Fever, headache
4.Loss of consciousness
5.Chest pain or breathlessness etcetera.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
