What Causes Painful Urination After Using Astroglide Lubricant?
I am a male and I have had painful urination for a couple days. It happened the first time after using astroglide lubricant and I don t know if maybe it was getting into my penis causing it? But I figured it wasn t because it should have been flushed out after urinating. I ve never had a uti either. Is that it?
A urinary or genital tract infection can cause burning on urination to occur. It can also occur if there is chemical irritation of the genital tract which is possible from contact with the gel. Since an infection would require antibiotic therapy, it would be best to rule this out with a visit to your doctor.
History of all relevant symptoms, physical examination of the abdomen along with urinalysis, would be needed. If it is a chemical irritation then the use of anti inflammatory pain killer would be enough that is Ibuprofen, Naproxen, and Voltaren.
I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
