Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Painful Urination Along With Bloody Discharge?
After experiencing pain while urinating and a bloody discharge, my husband had a scope and CT scan. The scan showed no signs of bladder or kidney cancer. The scope showed a lesion/tumor in the urethra. We are seeing a surgeon on Monday to discuss options. No biopsy has been done. if the tumor is malignant what is the most common treatment protocol? Also, my husband had scar tissue in his urethra removed 15 years ago and a portion of the urethra replaced with a skin graft. What are the possible connections between the original surgery and this tumor?
As per my clinical experience, the issue sounds to be due to narrowing of the urethra (as there is history of previous urethroplasty). Even though there is tumor, it can be non cancerous most likely. However, final tissue diagnosis with the biopsy is mandatory to proceed further.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
General Surgeon
