My baby boy is 1 month 27 days old.whenever he is passing urine he is crying little bit and recently given lots of pressure. I told to my pediatrician the whole thing and he referred me to do a urine culture and after got the result Dr. Told he has urine infection.and he given me a medicine advent for 5 days after that again I ve to do a urine test for him.I m very scared because he is very small and suffering through this kind of pain. Please tell me how soon my will be absolutely free from this infection?
Urinary infection usually resolves within few days when using the appropriate antibiotic.
If the infection didn't resolve within these 5 days, I'll recommend:
1- A "urine culture" which is a test for the urine sample to detected the type of bacteria causing the infection and its sensitivity to different antibiotics. This helps deciding the best and most effective antibiotic.
2- I'd recommend an ultrasound, to exclude congenital causes of stasis, obstruction, or stone formation predisposing to this infection.
I hope this was a sufficient answer to your concerns. Thank you for choosing HCM. Regards.
