What Causes Painful Urination?

It hurts to urinate when I use the bathroom and burns the urethra area outside. I m not sure if it has teared or gotten inflamed from intercourse, but it definitely is sensitive to the touch. Is there anything I can do to help the pain or heal it? I am supposed to start my period this week and I am worried the menstrual blood will infect or not let heal my urethra opening

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Pain during urination is suggestive of urinary tract infection (UTI).
I suggest you to get a routine urine examination along with urine culture to identify the infective organism and thus treatment.

Thanks and take care
