Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have some small white spots on the side of a few of my toes. They don t spread but they hurt when they re pressed against. They are unable to be popped and don t itch but they do hurt quite a bit when pressure is applied. They aren t against all of my toes, but they are on toes on both feet. Right below them, directly underneath the skin, the coloration is very pale, almost white.
You are suffering from corn between the toes. Painful patch underneath the skin are callouses. You are suggested to clean the affected area with warm water. Pat it dry. Now place the corn cap exactly above the affected area. Let the corn cap stay there for two days while you give rest to your foot. Gently remove the corn cap after two days. The corn or callus gets softened and this soft skin is to be gently removed using a pumice stone.
Wear corn pads to protect the sensitive area to reduce symptoms and discomfort. You can also use corn plaster or corn remover sterilized bands, both work effectively. However, if symptoms do not reduce get clinically examined by a GP. In case of infected corn or callus incision, drainage & treatment with antibiotics may be required. You are suggested not to wear ill fitting shoes, stop staying bare footed. Always wear shoes that fit you well. Avoid wearing flip flops. Maintain foot hygiene.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
