What Causes Painful Yellow Blisters On The Toes?

I stepped on an unknown. Now I have 2 segmenting yellow blisters. The blisters a about 2 cm long.On the blisters are a row of brown outlined squares 1 mm square They do not inch but there is a lot of swelling and my toes are stiff ? Not hot to the touch, but walking gives me a shooting or stinging pain in the blisters. No discharge from the blisters.
