Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Painfully Swollen Arms Post An Infusion For Osteoporosis?
I just received an infusion for osteoporosis. It s been a week and last night, my thumbs and hands started to ache horribly. Today my hands are swollen and I can hardly pick anything up. I had been finding it hard to swallow , also. I understand these can be side effects, but I am in terrible pain with my hands. My thumbs have, suddenly become deformed. I am terrified of what will happen next
Because the pain is severe and because you are having difficulty to swallow it is be seen by the doctor that applied the infusion so he can rule out important complications with the medication. After ruling out important side effects the doctor then will give you pain medications and other medications based on the cause of the symptoms.
I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
