What Causes Painfully Swollen Itchy Foot During Pregnancy?

hi I mamta. I was having cellulitis two weeks back in my whole leg including foot so I have taken antibiotic (Augmentin 625) N it got recovered. Now after two weeks again I m getting swelling n itching on my foot and its very painful. I am really afraid that it is cellulitis again as I am pregnant also so dont want to take much medicines as it can harm my baby. Please suggest.

Thanks for asking at Healthcare Magic. I read your question and I understand your concern.
swelling of the feet is normal during pregnancy due to decrease venous return because of pressure of pregnancy on Inferior vena cava.
However if it's very tender, red or warm then go for treatment as pregnancy is an immunocompromized state and any infection can be lethal. Augmentin are safe antibiotics. it doesn't harm the fetus. Keep your leg elevated. Wear elastic compression stockings.
