What Causes Painfully Swollen Lymph Nodes On The Neck?
Hello, the last few days i wake up the swollen lymph nodes left side of neck. Felt almost like strep throat this morning, but not painful. I took ibuprofen in early morning and it s okay right now. I have extreme dryness on the inside of my mouth cheeks, it s red all over the place, not painful but i feel dryness maybe a little irritated.
I can understand your concern. It seems that you are suffering from tonsillitis and need antibiotics to eliminate the bacterial infection.
You should start taking Azithromycin 500 mg (Azee 500) once a day for 3 days. Ibuprofen can be continued for generalized malaise and relief in pain. Warm salt water gargles will help, too.
Dry mouth you are experiencing might be due to side effect of the Ibuprofen, though it is not a common side effect. You can change the painkiller to Acetaminophen 500 mg or Ketorolac 10 mg.
If the pain is not relieved in three days, you should visit an ENT specialist for the clinical examination and further investigations.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
