What Causes Painless Swollen Glands In The Neck?

Over the past year the left side of my neck (gland area) swells up, after 3/4 days it goes down again. A scan was arranged last year (by the time the appointment came through - there was no swelling). The scan showed nothing. This is happening every 4-8 weeks. Can you help. I have no ear/throat cold etc. infection.

Hi,

Do you have any dental caries? Is swelling painful or is any difficulty in swallowing during that period? What's your age? Have you ever checked your thyroid status?

You should do a neck scan whenever you feel the swelling.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rajshree Agrawal, General & Family Physician
