Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain, stiffness And Red Blotches On The Face?
For the most part I have always had rather clear even skin on my face, and while it was mildly sensitive, it was tolerable. Recently my skin had began breaking out even though it is stiff and hurts to even gently scrape it. It is very red and blotchy. I have been using the products I have always used, ponds wet cleansing towelettes, neutrogena oil free acne wash, clean and clear acne spot treatment, and occasionally olay complete all day moisturizer with spf. I don t use all of these daily. I was wondering if you could tell me what is wrong with my skin and the best products/brands to help it. Thank you!
Based on the history you have shared, it seems to be acneform rash and may need oral antibiotics like Doxycycline if safe or no contraindication is noted.
Topical or local Doxycycline lotions may also be used along. Oral anti histamines like cetrizine or loratidine may be needed to decrease itiching.
Vitamin E and zinc supplementation may also be helpful for better response. If problem persists, a dermatologist review may be needed. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
