Hi.

Noted the history about your 1 year and 6 month old baby having different consistency of stool for the last 20 days in spite of giving antibiotic, probiotic, symptoms are recurring.
The commonest causes I can think about are as follows:
Re-infection due to contamination of water.
Intolerance to some food or beverages.
Viral infection.
Changing bowel habits due to age related immunity development.
All these things are best diagnosed by the following:
Send the stool for lab tests for three consecutive days.
Tests of blood.
Clinical evaluation by a Pediatrician.
Change over to another antibiotic if needed will be done by the Doctor.
Proper cleanliness as the kids start putting anything in mouth at this age and this causes recurrent intestinal infection.
Check the water and food source to see if there is any infection transmitted through these.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
