What Causes Pale Skin Around Gum Line Of Artificial Crown Despite Laser Bonding?
i had a large cavity on eyetooth gumline area where there is also a crown and root canal: dentist did laser surgery tx and some time of bonding. Three days later i see whiteness around the gumline of same tooth and am concerned of loss of oxygen or is this infection?
So sorry to hear about your problem and will try my level best to resolve it to the best of my knowledge and experience..
As per your complain it seems that whiteness over the gum line around the tooth that is root canal treated and crowned is indicating that there is a possibility that the area of the gums that are white is due to the crown impinging over the gums leading to blanching of the gums and causing whitish appearance.. I would suggest you to consult your treating Dentist and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and if there is crown impinging then either trimming or replacing the crown to proper sized crown can help.. The condition is not appearing to be due to infection but yes, continuous pressure can cut down the blood supply over the area and cause gum inflammation and atrophy.. Also there can be gum recession and the entire treatment can go in vain.. So better to get it evaluated and treated..
Hope this helps..
Thanks and Regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
