What Causes Palms Always Hotter When Compared To Body Temperature?
hi doctor,i just wanted to know whether it is a matter of concern that my palms are always hot even though my entire body remains at a lower temperature compared to my palms.Even though it is normal to me as its been there since long but now that the climate is so hot here that really has started to irk me.
The symptom could be just because of increased blood circulation over the area which is seen in some people which is absolutely normal and there is no abnormality in it. Another common cause is peripheral neuropathy which is seen in patients with systemic disease like diabetes, hypertension or autoimmune conditions.
You can take a course of vitamin B complex for a month and see if it helps. Also, you need to rule out presence of these conditions, if not ruled out already. There are many other reasons which are more complex and would need a thorough workup to confirm the diagnosis like fibromyalgia and reflex sympathetic dystrophy.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
