What Causes Palpitation In Left Ear?
hi. two years ago I started noticing heartbeat in my left ear.I went to doctor but he said that he could not find anything. The heartbeat stopped. But it came back. for about a month now I hear heartbeat in my left ear. I haven t been sick or anything like that. I hear the heartbeat in the left ear when I lay down on the right side and it disappears when i press the left side of the neck. What could that be?how to make it stop?Thanks.

Your proper history about hearing heartbeat in left ear on laying on left side, vanishing on pressing on left side of the neck indicate the following:
The commonest possibility is an arterial aneurysm hear the internal ear structure wherein the arterial pulsations are felt as hearing; stopping on pressure on neck on left side as this is blocking the arterial supply to the area.
This can be confirmed by the following ways:
Arteriography is hte best way to have a proper diagnosis.
Then get an opinion of an ENT Surgeon who is well experienced in such cases as only the most experienced one can operate on this most complex surgery.
You have to find the best one in your area.
Also rule out hypertension as probable cause.
Any other investigations like Audiometry, neurological evaluation should be done before surgery.
