Hi, I ve been suffering with some issues relating to my heart for a couple of weeks now and was wondering if someone could tell me how worrisome they are. I am a 22 year old male. A few weeks ago in bed I felt the sudden sensation that my heart had stopped for a few seconds. This caused me to jump up out of bed and set my heart racing. I was dizzy, light headed and panicking. This happened again the next day with the exact same symptoms. I went the doctor recently due to fears about my heart and he passed it off as anxiety attacks. However recently my heart rate has been spiking multiple times a day to the over 200 range. Yesterday I went to the emergency department because this lasted for an hour with my heart alternating from over 100 to over 200. I was extremely feint and lightheaded during this episode. I ve been recommended to be put on a holter monitor in a couple weeks by both my physician and the doctor at the emergency department. For the last two weeks I ve been suffering with serious palpitations and pounding heart almost all day with it getting worse at night. These episodes make my heart feel sore and are very worrisome. Should I be concerned about this or is it possible this issue is benign?
