What Causes Palpitations Along With Dizziness?

Hello I am a 30 year old male and have been taking 50mg atenolol for an irregular heart beat for around 8 weeks now. But have only had maybe 2 good days on this medication. I still get palpitations every day tightness in chest and dizziness I take the atenolol at night otherwise it ruins my whole day taking it in the morning. Will I ever get used to this medication ? or do I need to ask my doctor to change it completely ? Thank you

Hi,

Palpitation, irregular heartbeat with dizziness always need attention. Beta-blocker like Atenolol work very early if it has to. So if the drug has not worked for you after 8 weeks, I would highly recommend getting re-evaluation. Maybe get another ECG. Maybe it needs increasing the dose or changing it all.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
