What Causes Palpitations And Pain In The Larynx?

Heart beat rapid at time, pain in larynx area when walking short distances. Today took socks off and 1/2 inch difference in upper leg to where socks were. Legs feel heavy. Blood pressure has been high 176/110 heart rate 118 during one of these episodes. That was when I first woke up. I take blood pressure meds and thyroid. This has been going on for about 2 weeks.

Hi,

Since you are hypertensive and having hypothyroidism, we should definitely rule out heart diseases for your symptoms. So better to consult a cardiologist and get done blood pressure monitoring, ECG, 2d echo, stress test (trade mill test) and Holter monitoring (24 hours continuous recording of ECG).

If all these are normal then no need to worry much. Sometimes stress and anxiety can also cause palpitations. Avoid stress and tension, relax and be calm. Don't worry, you will be alright but first, rule out heart diseases.

Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further.
