What Causes Palpitations And Panic Attacks?

Hi, I am a man in 39 old, without serious illnesses in the past. But last year in november i experience panic attack afraid with an imaginary heart attack. In that night I was in hospital and they said I was panicked, nothing serious. I think panic attacks continued in same way for 2 weeks. Now after 5 months, I m still afraid that I have something in my heart, even I did several ecg and even an echocardiogram. Doctor told me my heart is normal and good. Now I wake up at night with palpitations that stop quickly and sometimes I feel itchy in my left ribs near to heart. My heartbeats when i rest is 80, and blood pressure 125/85. If i drink half a betaloc my heartbeats become 66 but also blood pressure go down. I mention that I not get tired when I make effort. My question is, if my heart is well why my heart beat fast when I weak up in night? Can affect me that? And also I have in my ribs near to heart veins wich if I push is hurt and sometimes itchi?
