What Causes Palpitations In Left Knee Veins Post Total Thyroidectomy?

Good morning. I m 39 years old. I just had my total thyroidectomy operation last July 07, 2015.Last night while I was in the office I felt unusual on my left upper knee/in the middle of my front thigh(near my knee). I felt a palpitation of my veins in it and it was painful, but I decided just don t mind it. I convinced myself that it will be ok later or maybe it s normal to feel like this sometimes. When I went home & about to sleep, I still felt the same thing but the more painful the palpitation of the veins, until I got up this morning and came here in the office, still I feel pain in it but more painful and somewhat like it runs down to my foot. I m afraid I can t walk later because it might numb my legs and it will be painful to walk. I want to ask what is this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
It is better you immediately go to a qualified physician who will physically examine and suggest some blood work to arrive at diagnosis.we need to know your body temperature as this symptom is seen in infections like rheumatic fever or lymes disease which are to be ruled out by blood work.delaying may worsen your condition so immediately you go to a dr and get treated.
