What Causes Palpitations While On Lorazepam?

My husband has a history of heart palpitations. He has been experiencing them off and on since last Thursday. Three of those times lasted 1-2hrs. He also has a history of panick/anxiety attacks and takes lorazepam daily. I am concerned that it is lasting as long as an hour Tuesday night, Thursday morning and this afternoon.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It's not common for Lorazepam to cause heart palpitations. However, panic and anxiety attacks are associated with palpitations.

At the moment, you need to visit the nearest medical center or consult your cardiologist to perform full clinical assessment and lab tests to exclude any underlying problem within your heart.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
