Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 61 year old woman who has been a full-time caregiver for the last 5 years for my husband who had a massive stoke. In the last week or so, I can t sleep no matter what I do. When I go to bed my heart starts beating very fast. I have taken my B/P all of these nights and it s always normal. I am not eating as much also. I had a rare tumor removed from my neck in Dec. and really have not felt good since. It was not cancer. I don t know, could this all be stress or should I see my PCP???
After going through your medical details I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that palpitations can be there because of stress , hormonal imbalance, dehydration, nutritional deficiencies of underlying heart disease.
Considering your age It’s recommended for you to get CBC, Serum Vitamin B-12, thyroid Profile, EC and Echocardiography done and consult a physician personally for proper evaluation and treatment .
Hopefully this information will answer your query
Kind Regards Dr Bhanu Partap
