What Causes Palpitations While Suffering From An Upper Respiratory Tract Infection?
Yes. I recently had a bad URI. Fever, cough, etc. Took 5 days of antibiotics. Prior to that I have been having a sore throat and tender to palpation to the R side of my voicebox. The doctor dismissed that due to my cold. It has been almost 14 days since onset of my URI. I am still coughing...though I produce very little. I have this constant irritating cough and over the last 4-5 days the Left side of my voicebox is very tender to palpation. I feel like I have something stuck there all the time. Feels very thick when I swallow. I am painful in that area all day ...but is not severe pain - 3-4/10 on the pain scale. No weight loss, no unusual fatigue, but after looking stuff up online...could these be symptoms of cancer? I am scared. I have no insurance
As per your clinical history is concerned first I want to demystify that it is not an immensely colossal issue as you think. Palpitation can be due to various pathological causes so check whether you have anemia or not by checking your hemoglobin level if low integrate iron capsules daily. Do check your fasting blood sugar and TSH level to ruled out hormonal causes. Do an ECG to ruled out cardiac causes. Regarding your throat problem I may verbalize that you have already taken antibiotics and no further antibiotics is required and for cough you can integrate a cough syrup for one week.you can do salt water gargle like this, integrate one-half teaspoon of salt to one cup of warm water. Stir it well and gargle with this solution for a few seconds, and then expectorate it out. Do this three times a day until you feel preponderant.
Hope that helps
