Hello and welcome to HCM, The symptom of feeling the heartbeat constantly is called palpitations. Palpitations can occur due to anxiety or cardiac disease. The symptoms described by you are that of anxiety and not cardiac illness. You need to consult your physician for clinical assessment and prescription of drugs which decrease the fast pounding heart. In addition, complete cardiac assessment is also required to rule out any organic cardiac illness. Medications will control the fast pounding heart but at the same time, you need to practise relaxing techniques to reduce anxiety.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
