What Causes Panic Attacks While On Mucinex?

i stopped taking my anti depressant and started taking mucinex instead... It has been making me feel better mentally and i am not so scared or panicing so much. Is it wrong to to mucinex instead of my antidepressant. i feel happier and i can do anything better

Hello,

You are not getting panic attacks because of taking Mucinex. You have stopped taking antidepressants all of a sudden & that is causing you panic attacks.

Antidepressants or any medicine should be weaned under an expert GP or under a detox center. The medications are tapered slowly so that the withdrawal symptoms can be managed.

You are suggested to visit ER, get admitted so that you get adequate medical support. You need intravenous fluids & symptomatic treatment.
