What Causes Paralysed Ileostomy With Fistulas?

I am paralyzed with an Ileostomy and three large fistulas. I always have a great deal of pain, between 8-10 on the pain scale. I can t take narcotics for pain anymore because my kidneys aren t working very well. My kidneys won t filter very good and I overdose with kidney failure secondary to the pain meds. Is there anything that can help with the pain without affecting my kidneys. When they finally figured out what was happening my wife and I started to slowly take me off all pain meds. I was on 100m of fentenyl transdermal patch and on oyxcodone. When we finally got off the meds, we told my doctor what we did. We had decreasing dosages of the fentenyl which help greatly. Any ideas?

your options are limited. but there is evidence that ketamine is effective in longterm pain management.ask your doctor about this treatment option. if he thinks you can tolerate according to your condition, then he can prescribe it.
