Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Dr. Keerthi, my son had a spinal MRI done and they identified lipomas in his lower spine and in the shoulder area according to the doctor. I did not see the MRI myself so I can t say exactly where on the spine they were. He was also diagnosed with Paroxysmal Hemicrania, although his is bilateral. Is there any possibility that lipomas on the upper spine could trigger symptoms that feel like cluster headaches, but with the duration closer to paroxysmal hemicrania?

What Causes Paroxysmal Hemicrania?
Hi, Lipomas in the upper spine can cause nerve compression and the symptoms. As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Aceclofenac or Tramadol for pain relief. You can consult a neurosurgeon for detailed evaluation. If the symptoms are severe, surgical correction may be required. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
