Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Partial Loss Of Hearing And Ringing In Ear Caused After Injury?
I was in a fight and was hit in the side of my head including my ear. Its been almost 48hours and still have little hearing.. and ringing in my ear! I m gonna make appointment to see doctor if it s not a little better tomorrow. What can be wrong with my ear.. please help! Will I be able to hear again?
Thanks for your query . Injury can occur to the middle ear or ear drum which leads to permanent/ temporary loss of hearing depending upon the severity of injury . These kind of injuries are known as acoustic trauma .
Injuries that leads to temporary hearing loss is called temporary shifting of threshold accompanied by ringing bells in ear (tinitus) .
I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist(ear, nose, throat) for proper examination and rule out permanent damage . Doctor may order audiometery test and may prescribe steroid drugs or multivitamin supplements for quick healing .
Fo now do cajeput oil massage behind ear which will help in improving hearing .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
