Hi..my 3 month old baby ha been passing greenish frothy mucousy stools for the past ten days..though he doesn t have fever but I feel he has lost some weight..attached is his report..my parts advised enterogermina..today got his stool routine done and attached is the report of the same..Pls suggest if I need to start antibiotics ...thanks doc..
Hello Welcome to Health Care Magic. Don't worry much. Stay calm. green color of stool can be due to some infection. but till the baby is active and has no fever, there is no issue. In case of loose motion. first priority is maintain the hydration level. keep the child hydrated with water, juices and oral re hydration solution. enterogermina is necessary to regenerate bacterial wall in intestine which is necessary so continue the same. you can add zinc syrup for 15 days which is found useful and recent advance. this much is first line but the motion is not controlled then metronidazole and ofloxacin are necessary to add. but under supervision of pediatrician.
Hope this information helps you. Best wishes.
