Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 2 year old has what i call blonde stools. I have decreased her dairy intake and also added probiotics to the mix. She eats well. She's a bit on the small side, at only 27 lbs. 10%. I am worried about malabsorption. Should I look further into a gastroenterologist?
The normal color of stool is pale yellow to brown. You say that your infant's stool is light blonde. It could be helpful if you could send me a picture of her stool to see their color myself.
I do not think she is suffering of malabsorption as long as her growing parameters are within normal range.
She is still young, and still in process of tasting and introducing new food. I advise you to observe how her bowel responds to new food introduced.
All the best.
