What Causes Passing Of Dark Greenish Stools By An Infant?
My 10 month old baby has had very dark greenish tar like stools in her diaper past two days now, we have started feeding her mixtures of baby foods and she has two feedings of that 2 times a day and two bottles of formula 1 in the am and 1 at night and maybe about 6 oz of apple juice with her baby food feedings, also have given her baby graduates yogurt fruit melts, could any of these feedings be causing her stool to be so dark?? should we be concerned?

Understanding your concern. As per your query your infant have symptoms of passing of dark greenish stoolS which is due to poor digestion, poor absorption or rapid movement through the intestines and all this leads to greenish watery diarrhea. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take zinc supplements along with oral rehydrating solution. You should take antibiotic such as oflox-oz along with rekool-d empty stomach. You should maintain the hydration of the body by taking plenty of oral fluids. You can take Nitazoxanide twice daily to prevent diarrhea. Your symptoms will resolve in 3-4 days. If your symptoms keeps on persisting visit gastroenterologist once and get it examined and start treatment accordingly. You should start treatment after complete examination.
