What Causes Passing Of Pale Soft Stools While On Miralax For Constipation?
My 18 month old daughter has been having hard stools. The pediatrician said to give her Miralax to reset her bowels. We gave it to her for 2 days & her stools became liquid. Since stopping the Miralax & becoming more firm again her stools have started looking like wet toilet paper wads. They are white, somewhat waxy looking & smell terrible. What could be causing this?

Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have symptoms of passing of pale soft stools while on Miralax for constipation which can occur due to many reasons and it is extremely important to find out the exact cause. It seems to be due to motility disorder and due to food intolerance.
Need not to worry. I would advise you to consult a physician or gastroenterologist and get examination done like complete blood count, stool examination, ultrasound scan of abdomen, colonoscopy & contrast studies.
You should start treatment after complete examination. Doctor may prescribe you traditional drugs like lactulose, milk of magnesia and cremaffin or bisacodyl tablets.
You should take plenty of fluids and diet rich in laxatives. Drink one spoon of honey in warm water daily . This will be really helpful. You should take diet rich in fibres.
