I have recently been getting patches of scaly spots on my scalp, doesn t hurt, or bleed, or weep. I take Coreg, lisinapril, plavix, lipator, baby aspirin, and omega 3 supplement daily. I tend to scratch it in my sleep which results in a red patch in the morning. What is there out there in otc medicated shampoos or creams etc that might help?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms seem to be related to seborrheic dermatitis.
The teatment for seborrheic dermatitis focuses on loosening scale, reducing inflammation and swelling, and curbing itch.
I suggest using a topical antifungal cream or medicated shampoo such as ketoconazole.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
