What Causes Pelvic Discomfort, Vomiting And Diarrhoea After Tampon Removal?
Hiya, I need some advice please, I left a tampon in for 5 days and had drunken sex on the first night (hence not realising I hadn t taken it out). Should I seek medical advice ? I do have some pelvic discomfort and I did suffer some vomit and diarrhoea on the fourth day, I found and removed it today !! I thought I had a bug.... Is it just a coincidence ?
The vomiting, diarrhea and pelvic discomfort at 5th days of tampon removal is not normal and should not be taken just casually. This can be part of Toxic shock syndrome or Staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome from staph aureus bug responsible for the condition. You need an ER visit for: - Getting vital parameters checked as pulse, temperature, blood pressure along with complete hemogram and differential diagnosis - Intravenous access for intravenous fluids, intravenous antibiotics, intravenous anti emetics, intravenous proton pump inhibitor, anti spasmodic injections in drip
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
