What Causes Pelvic Pain After An Angiogram?

Pelvic pain following angiogram 4 days ago. No bruising, just distention and tenderness. Resembles menstrual pain. Cath site has angio seal however no pain in that area, just post insertion tenderness. 51 y/o female with no intervention, clean, yet small arteries and a bridge. Yet my troponin went up to 22.5. Dr says it s viral myocarditis and on steroids. Coughing, diuresing well, somewhat orthopnic and definitely exertional dyspnea. They tell me it has to run its course. I m way to busy to be sick so I know I m down, yet I m afraid of this new belly discomfort. All was brought on by epigastric pain that lead to chest pain. Lipase went to 4425. Had been on Victoza for a year and dr said known to cause pancreatitis. WAs npo X2dsys and fluids. Went up again after I started on solids so I m baby to full liquids at home. H&H did go down slightly after angio. My problems are 3 fold.

Cannot say in your particular case. There can be dye reactions and pancreatitis from it but I've never personally heard of a case--it is rare. On the other hand the catheterization is going thru the inguinal canal, any complication there of even a minor nature can cause widespread pain and infection and bleeding can track into the abdomen. The 4000 reading means pancreatitis and that is likely the cause of pain. It just isn't likely to be due to the cathererization.
