What Causes Pelvic Pain During Pregnancy?

Hi, my wife is 32 weeks into her pregnancy & has been feeling pain in the uterus for about a week or so. We paid our phisician a visit and he noted contraction of the uterus and gave her some medication as below: 1.Zinnat Tablets 500mg 10 s 2.Nifpine Retard 20mg Tabs 30 s 3.Buscopan plus 50 s 4.Salbut 4mg 100s Im concerned about numbers 2&4! Is it okay to take the drugs at this stage of pregnancy?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
My answer is as following:
1. Zinnat is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infection. It can be used at 32 weeks of pregnancy when her doctor thinks is most appropriate.
2. Nifpine Retard is a calciblocker vasodilatator used to treat severe high blood pressure in pregnant women. So, if she is suffering of severe high blood pressure should take as prescribed by her doctor.
3. Salbutamol is a beta-adrenergic drug which is used to open up the airways (bronchodilatator).
4. Buscopan plus is helping ease the pain she is feeling in the uterus.
From the medicines she is taking, I imagine she is suffering of possible lung infection with narrowing of respiratory pathways. If so, should follow her doctor's prescription rigorously.
