What Causes Penile Bleeding After A Urethral Surgery?

My boyfriend is 51 and he had surgery in January 2016 because he was having trouble peeing. So they open his urethra so urine could flow. Well about a month ago he found a tiny spot of blood in his underwear but he didn t see any coming from his penis when checking it. By the way he s never been circumcised. What can cause this?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It could be due to some blood clots or most probably due to development of minor stones in his urinary tract. Nothing much to worry. You can go for an ultrasound KUB and if anything rise suspicion consult a urologist for detailed evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
