Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A few days ago I noticed pink spotting in the morning in my undershorts. It obviously came thru the penis. I am 80 years old and had prostate cancer which was stage one and treated by radiation in 2007. Today the discharge while urinating is bright red. My last PSA was in Dec 2016?and was .9 up from .7 the year before. The blood tests also showed a deficinsy of white blood cells. Could the problem now be Prostate cancer?
There is a possibility that this may be cancer, but to be honest blood in urine is caused much more commonly by other causes than cancer. Other causes which commonly cause blood in urine include infection, trauma, kidney stone, or the radiation may also cause bleeding.
So there are more common causes, but still, in your context its always to look into its details, So see your urologist, for proper assessment and management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman,
General & Family Physician
