General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Hypersomnia in children can be caused by infections, kidney problems or disorders such as myotonic dystrophy. It also can be idiopathic. I suggest you to do blood analysis, urinalysis, and an x-ray to do diagnosis. Treatment depends on the cause.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
