What Causes Periodic Pain After Treating Broken Left-sided Clavicle
I broke my clavicle on the left side almost exactly a year ago. I wore a sling for a while and I was told it healed. The bone was still a little crooked but I was told it would eventually return to normal. I have been fine for several months but in the last several weeks I have been experiencing periodic pain. It has gotten worse and more frequent. It started around my clavicle but extends to my chest and neck at times. Could this be related? Should I see a doctor?
Let me tell you that the symptoms described by you suggest that you have Neuropathic pain due to nerve injury. Pregabalin 75mg is one of the best drugs for that kind of neuropathic pain. I advise you to consult an orthopaedic surgeon for further evaluation and its appropriate treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Arup Majumdar, General & Family Physician
