What Causes Persistent CSOM With Ear Discharge Despite Tympanoplasty Treatment?
I am suffering from CSOM(Left ear) from last two years and i underwent tympanoplasty for two times but still the issue is persisting and i am getting ear discharge continuously. I request you to recommend a permanent solution to my problem. Looking forward to hear from you
Yes discharge of reddish brown colour can happen uoto two weeks which normally represents post operative fluid which requires drainage. If the fluid is like pus or you are suffering from too much of pain then there is sometimes rare risk of re infection .Also you must follow your doctors instructions completely like taking medications especially the antibiotics in time and not miss its doses. For some time after the surgery you should keep that area dry and away from moisture. if already two weeks have gone you should check with your doc as to wat may be the cause. Tympanoplasty is broadly classified into five types depending upon the type of CSOM you are suffering from. Usually the atticoantral type requires further mastoidectomy along with tympanoplasty.
