What Causes Persistent Abdominal Cramping And Vaginal Bleeding Despite Taking Antibiotics?

At the end of Dec I had a bacterial and yeast infection, they gave me medication for both but I did not finish all of the antibiotics and then a few weeks ago I had an IUD placed and they did a swab at the same time. I got a call a few days later and found out I had Chlamydia. I was having intense cramping and bleeding so I went back to the doctors and they said I may have a pelvic infection. I am on antibiotics and they gave me a shot but I am still cramping and bleeding. When should I go back in?

Hi Pelvis infection with Chlamydia requires you to be on a long course of antibiotics approximately 6 weeks. How long have you been taking your antibiotics?
Cramping pain is expected in your case your doctor will be able to suggest a good pain killer to keep you comfortable. The pain will stop once the infection is cleared.
In the case of your bleeding, are you on your period? Pelvic infection alone will not cause you to bleed vaginally. So if you are not on your period I suggest you to visit your doctor who can give you medicines to stop the bleeding. I hope this helps. I wish you good health :)
