What Causes Persistent Abdominal Cramps Post Termination Of Pregnancy?

Hi, had a question. I found out I was 5 weeks pregnant and went to a woman s fpa to get the abortion pills. I never thought I would ever do anything like this but they said it s only like a sack right now not a human .. Which I hope is true. But yesterday I went and they had me take one pill that s freezes the pregnancy don t know what it s called, with 4 antibiotics after that. No bleeding nothing happened except feeling nausea for awhile. Then tonight at work I started bleeding, and then heavy bleeding ! one point thankfully went into the bathroom because was lots of blood and what looked to be a fat ball of blood like The sack and cramps. Then when I came home there was a little more blood and then that s when I took the 4 pills. And have some cramps soon but little blood not really that much and got the chills from the pills. What I don t understand is can that one pill give me the abortion or could that been a miscarriage? Who knows if I m already done with abortion or not still feel some cramps but it s weird how before those 4 pills I got all that blood and bad cramps which the nurse said that one pill shouldn t make me bleed. I do have an appointment a week after this for an ultra sound.

Hi,

I feel you had starting pill for medical termination pregnancy. The Mefepristone which stops the growth of the embryo & extinct it.

Mostly you have to start with two pills af the other 4 pills. Mizoprostol, which makes uterus contract to empty the uterine sac out. But, in few ladies, only harm to the embryo stimulates cramps &bleeding starts.

Though what you say 'a fat like mass with blood's can be conceptional sac parts of placental tissue still remain inside & so the bleeding & cramps continue.

You should start with the remaining 4 pills to complete the process & go for your uah date after a week. But if the bleeding & pain is too much, you should see your treating doctor right away, for it might be incomplete abortion & rest of fetal part is adhered to uterus walls.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
