What Causes Persistent Abdominal Discomfort?

Hi, For the past week my stomach has been feeling uncomfortable. I feel like there is a lot of gas built up inside or something. I have been eating a lot of fast food recently and had raw tuna one time but it was sushi grade tuna. I don t think I am pregnant either because the pregnancy tests came back negative. I eat a lot and crave food late at night but I have been like that for years. I am worried if I have a tapeworm or something but I am not sure. My weight is the same but my stomach is so uncomfortable. Everything else is normal but I just have the weird feeling in my stomach.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM.
Thanks for putting up your query.
It is good you eat a lot.But it also matters what you eat and at what time.Though there is possibility that you may have some underlying pathological cause for abdominal bloating, but these food habits do exaggerate the problem.
If I were your treating doctor,I recommend,
-Capsule omeprazole in morning and tablet Albendazole only one dose.
-Avoid fast food, fatty and fried food, lentils, carbonated drinks.
- Avoid eating in hurry.Chew your food properly and then swallow.
-Include probiotics like yogurt in diet.
-Take a 10 minutes walk after your meals.Avoid eating at late nights.
-if your undergoing any mental stress,do yoga and meditation.Do regular exercises. Have minimum 8 hours of sleep.
Still if the symptoms persists or there starts other complain like abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting ;visit physician. Certain investigations like USG abdo, stool test may become necessary.
Hope this information helps.
Thanks and regards.
