What Causes Persistent Abdominal Pain After Gallbladder Removal?

I am in severe abdominal pain. This has been since August, causing a week long stay in the hospital and the removal of my gallbladder. I was told that the pain would go away after surgery. It did not help at all. I have no quality of life due to the severity of my pain. What do I do to eliminate the pain?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Persistence of pain long after gall bladder surgery needs to be investigated.
The pain associated with surgery does not last for more than a couple of days.
Is there any abnormality at the incision site?
Infection of the incision site sometimes leads to pain at that site.
If the incision site is normal, then other causes of pain should be looked for.
It may be possible that the pain is not associated with the previous surgery and it may be due to involvement of some other organ.
I suggest you to consult your surgeon for clinical assessment and relevant investigations to find out the cause of pain.
Clinical assessment, site of pain and ultrasound abdomen will be required to find out the cause of pain and thus plan its management.

Thanks and take care
