What Causes Persistent Abdominal Pain And Diarrhea In A Person With Diverticulitis?
Hi, I m 39 years old. To start I ll let you know I do have Diverticulitis, IBS, Acid Reflux Disease and a Bacterial Over Growth in my Intestines. Plus I have thyroid disease. OK now my problem. I ve had really bad Diarrhea along with really bad pain in the (L) side of my stomach going on 2 & 1/2 weeks now and it s getting worse not better. I ve resorted to a BRAT Diet to try to help control my symptoms like I did a few years ago when I was hit with this same problem! Well know for the past week I ve been noticing what looks like ground up pepper when I wipe myself. I use to take the drug Xarelto a few years ago before they did the recall on it and I was having bloody stools then. But know one could figure out why I was having them! Anyway can you PLEASE shed some light on what might be going on right now? I m desperate here please! Woman with sever Diarrhea, pain in Stomach, black specks that look like pepper and has several health related issues including Hypokalemia, Gerd, IBS, and Diverticulitis!
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have persistent abdominal pain and diarrhea in a person with diverticulitis . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like constipation , infection of the urinary tract, crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis , irritable bowel syndrome or due to improper digestion of food. Doctor may recommend surgery in severe case if you have a complication, such as perforation, abscess, fistula or bowel obstruction . For now eat light and no spicy , drink plenty of water , take some probiotic food like yogurt or add more fruits and vegetables to your diet. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may order ultrasound , CT scan , stool test and endoscopy. Doctor may prescribe omeprazole , ornidazole , laxative along with analgesic.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
