What Causes Persistent Abdominal Pain And Gas?

My sister has been complaining of severe stomach pain and gas for the past several weeks. She had bloodwork done before going on vacation. On arriving home tonight, she had a message that they had found something on her bloodwork and were scheduling her for a CT scan. Obviously she is fearing the worst. What are some of the less obvious things that would show up on bloodwork? Ulcers, etc.

Hi

Ulcers cannot be detected with blood work.Complete blood count contains tests like white blood cell count and Esr which can be raised and can indicate infection or inflammation. This could be the reason for a CT scan recommendation. You have not mentioned CT scan of which part of the body.It is likely to be abdomen.Kindly take CT and visit your physician for further management.

Hope that was helpful.Let me know if i can assist you further.
